Day Four
Once again, I'm was off for my morning stroll at 6:00am within the neighbourhood. The streets would be almost empty at this time, shops still mostly closed and shopkeepers getting ready for the day.

main road in front of my hotel | |
tiny back street - always surprises me that cars actually drive through them |
the object of this photo is actually the pants that the guy is wearing, - very loose but fitted at the ankles. I don't know what they are called but I see them used mostly by workers. |
You see vending machines for all sorts of things everywhere - 便利ですね。 |
My intersection when I get off my station. |
On this particular day, my early morning stroll took me all the way to Hanzomon in search of the nearest Daiso. According to google maps it was in Hanzomon. That is why I find my Pasmo card very convenient....just step onto the train and it will take you anywhere. I did not find Daiso, however, I was able to snap a few photos.

A shrine in Hanzomon |
I think this is a two way street - taken in Hanzomon. |
Women Only Cars - nothing like this in Toronto |
...just because the train was almost empty... |
On the way back, I bought brunch from a lady selling bento.
My brunch - onigiri - one of them is うめおにぎり -すっぱい!!! |
I decided to go back to Ueno - Ameyoko. I like walking here (despite the smells), browsing in shops, you find all sorts of things and if you're patient enough, you may find deals as well.
the early morning hour before the throng of people arrive...few shops are open at this time. |
I happened to pass by a park with a flea market - it may have been the outskirts of Ueno Park. I did not go into Ueno Park this trip....I've already done a lot of walking - maybe next time.....another reason to come back :-)
The sky has turned drk once again - it was time to head back to the hotel. |
The evening's itinerary was Harajuku, stroll along Takeshita Dori, though far from being a leisurely stroll as I was mostly dodging people. It was very very very crowded - I think it's part of it's charm :-)
If you happen to be an AKB48 fan, they have a newly opened fan shop in Harajuku :-) |
.....a stroll down Omotesando Hills
